When Electromagnetic Brake is applied, first the quicker coil gets energized and after several milliseconds both the coils get energized. The resulting magnetic flux works against the spring force to draw the armature plate to the stator, releasing the rotor from the spring force and allowing it to rotate freely. This model supports the use of a torque adjustment ring to reduce the braking torque. The size of the brake varies with motor speed and kilowatt.
